Frequently asked Questions

What is the best time to visit Tanzania?

Selecting the optimal time for a safari in Tanzania hinges on your preferences. The dry season, encompassing June to October and January to March, proves excellent for wildlife observation as animals congregate around water sources. While you’ll relish sunny days, be prepared for larger crowds, particularly during the Great Migration and the birthing seasons of zebras and wildebeests.

Conversely, the rainy season, spanning April to May and November to December, presents a lush landscape with fewer visitors and potential lodge discounts. Transition periods like late March, early June, late October, and November offer a harmonious blend of favorable weather and a quieter experience, striking a balance between good conditions and reduced tourist numbers.

What to wear on a safari in Tanzania?

Opt for safari attire with shirts and pants in neutral tones such as khaki or gray to seamlessly blend in and minimize the visibility of dust. Steer clear of white, blue, and camouflage clothing, as blue may attract tsetse flies, and camouflage is typically restricted for civilians. While dresses are suitable for lodges, practicality calls for pants during drives. Prioritize sun protection with a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Opt for closed shoes on drives, reserving sandals for lodge settings. Ensure you pack a warm jacket, particularly for chilly mornings and evenings, especially in higher-altitude regions.

Can I leave the car on a safari?

Leaving the car on a Tanzania safari is allowed in designated areas only. Leaving a car right in the middle of the national park isn’t allowed because of safety considerations.

Can I use a drone on safari?

Individuals without regular visitor status are prohibited from operating drones within Tanzania’s national parks. However, those engaging in filming projects can seek special permissions, a procedure that usually spans 3-4 months and involves additional expenses. Attempting to bring a drone into Tanzania without the requisite permissions may result in customs officials confiscating the device upon arrival.

Is there internet coverage on Tanzania safari?

Our safari vehicles are equipped with Wi-Fi; however, it’s important to acknowledge that coverage may be limited in the more remote sections of national parks. Wi-Fi is also available in hotels and lodges throughout Tanzania, although the connection in these locations may occasionally experience interruptions.
